Pachamama- The great Earth Mother (aka. Gaia, Sophia, Maya, Mama Aya)

The spirit of the Great Earth Mother guides all of her children along the pathways of health, wellness, and abundance. She is the living embodiment of the Divine Feminine energies. Her book of Nature points our attention toward God, toward service to others, toward healing the planet and healing ourselves. She teaches us to become free from our ego-based delusions and limiting beliefs. As the Nurturer and Sustainer of all forms of life on this planet, and as the supreme wisdom goddess, she invites each of us to sit with her in Nature, in quiet meditation in order to receive her rich blessings and her divine guidance.

 Gabriel Bertolo

Gabriel started playing music at a very young age, and has always been a spirit seeking the deeper mystical truths. Combining these two, he has been blending his love of playing music with the spiritual power of sound and vibration. Understanding how the frequency of sound can unlock and create very deep journeys, spontaneous release of emotional wounds and facilitate the opening of our energy centers. Sound is what calls things into being, as all is vibration, and every sound has a direct effect on every cell in our body, and the entire universe.

He works with a unique mix of sound, breathing, mantras, Rieki, chanting, Taoist color healing, and his personal shamanic practices. He has spent many years working with various instruments such as; tibetan singing bowls, native american flute, hand drums, guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, guzheng, and voice. Whether he is toning to animals, intuitively taking someone on a spiritual journey through the bouzouki, or playing drums in a psychedelic funk band, Wakah Chan, the elements of sound healing and shamanic practice are always at work.  Jeanelle Boyer

For much of my life, I’ve lived by two mottos: “Do the thing you fear most” ~ Mark Twain
and “Love more”. I truly believe that within every person is an overflowing well of love and bliss,
and it has been through my relationship with fear that I tapped into that love within me.

In 7th grade, I had my first panic attack, and for many years after, my life was limited by anxiety
and fear. I clearly remember one evening in 1997 when the fear was particularly intense. Just
when I felt like I was really losing it, I shifted into what I now call “witness consciousness” and
became aware of fear as sensation in my body. I realized that I didn’t need give in to fear; I
could engage in life fully, and fear was just sensation. I wasn’t fear. For a moment, I felt an
intense feeling of freedom and liberation! No need to run away any more.

A year later, I discovered yoga. Not only did I love the physical aspects of yoga, as the postures
began to melt away years of tension in my body, but I fell in love with the cue to “just allow
yourself to BE with whatever might be present, allow sensation to pass through your body”. I
knew this is just what I needed. In so many ways, my yoga practice saved my life. It gave me
all of the tools that I needed to truly begin moving through fear….and into love.

It was around this time that I began to live by the motto “Do the thing you fear most”. After a
lifetime of airplane phobia, I started flying. I started running marathons, and eventually I took up
adventure racing …. I was rappelling off cliffs, getting lost deep in the woods, mountain biking
twisty, rocky singletrack trails in the middle of the night, and running races that lasted 24 hrs.
As I moved into and through fear, I found two things on the other side: FREEDOM and LOVE.
As fear subsides, I was gifted with strong feelings of connection with all life everywhere. Intense
fear would open space for even more intense feelings of love and bliss. Soon I would be sitting
in tears, touched by the beauty of all life, my heart bursting with love and gratitude. Fear still
comes forward, but way less than it used to. Love is very present in my life. Love IS my life. I
AM love.

Now, with my heart full, my desire is to share yoga and guide people through experiences
that help them connect back to that love and joy that is found within so that compassion for all
beings and this planet naturally arises. I began my yoga practice in 1998 with Steven Valloney
at Sunrise Yoga in Ithaca, NY and completed my 200 hour teaching training at Kripalu in 2007.
Throughout the years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to study with many amazing
teachers, such as Shiva Rea, Desiree Rumbaugh, Seane Corn, Max Strom, Dharma Mittra,
Yoganand Michael Carroll, Saul David Raye, and many others. These days, I’m also enjoying
an exploration into the world of shamanic and energetic healing with a gifted teacher in Iowa.
My yoga classes range from vigorous alignment –based vinyasa flow classes to very mindful,
meditative practices. I strive to create a safe, loving and playful environment where everyone
feels safe to explore. In addition to yoga, I am completely in love with this beautiful earth and
spend as much time as possible outdoors-adventure racing, hiking, trail running, mountain
biking, paddling, exploring, and just BEING.

Brooke Gillespie

Genetrix Peace is a crystal bowl ensemble created by Brooke Hamre Gillespie.

Genetrix is comprised of an revolving number of voices, seven quartz crystal bowls, heartbeat, percussion, and prayer.

We come together in a timeless healing language of vibration, the song of light.  We come together in sacred ceremony to pray, to heal, to sing, to create sacred space, and to remember who we truly are.

We come together in a circle and explore the sacred space that is created through our gathering.  From this wide open space, this circle womb, a genetrix language is created through our voices, and through the vibration of the crystal bowls.   In circles goes our sound, moving beyond ourselves, we become from many, one.

We ask the audience to participate with their hearts, spirits, and minds.  Within this participatory arising, a feedback loop of reciprocity occurs, at once organic and yet with enough form to explore the subtleties of energies that arise through the sound prayer.  Each bowl is a guide and transmitter, a drone and intention amplifier, creating a harmonic landscape through which our voices weave a web of light.  We journey through the void and back again, moving in resonance through the breath, the body, and the voice, generating peace, love, awareness, and compassion.

We are giving homage to the Perfection of the Wisdom.

She is sunya.  She is yab-yum.  She is prajna paramita.

We are available for ceremonies and events; please inquire by email through the contact page at http://www.genetrixpeace.com/index.html

Wendy Messano

Certified Childrens Yoga Instructor

Ages 2 to 14

Teaching for me, comes easy. When you truly believe in something, I think that you can use that energy and pass it on to others. Whether it’s teaching three year olds about being nice to each other, or practicing yoga to improve relaxation in kids busy lives, or hoping children care about the environment and appreciate the earth as much as you do, it all takes a special quality.

After transfering three times, I ended up with a degree in Recreation, Leisure, and tourism. Instead of trying to figure out what to do with that degree, I decided to do it all. I manage a farmers’ market as well as teach kids some of the most important things they’ll ever learn, patience, confidence, sustainability, and health. I am so lucky to be able to share my knowledge with them at such a young age. I can only hope they are able to absorb it all and take it with them through out their lives.

Joint Therapy
With David Nebiolo, DPT
This workshop will present practical, basic methods to assess and self-treat common
postural dysfunction in the hips, pelvis, and low back. Asymmetrical lumbosacral
posture is often acquired, affecting joint and soft-tissue function throughout the foot-
knee-trunk kinematic chain. This can lead to further problems of recurrent pain,
loss of motion, joint and muscle hyper/hypomobilty, intervertebral disc stress, nerve
impingement, etc.
Topics will cover basic review of anatomy, joint mechanics, segmental mobility, gentle
self-mobilization, SNAG technique, counter-strain relaxation, repetitive range-of-motion,
McKenzie theory, self-traction, therapeutic exercises, and more.
Common postural and chronic problems involving the lower cervical spine will also be
covered with therapeutic exercise and hands-on treatment techniques presented. Based
on time and needs we may also cover areas of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, knee,
ankle, and foot.
Participants will be encouraged to work in small groups with exercises and hands-on
modalities to try. Printed notes will be given to promote learning and integration of these
ideas in yogic practice over time. Included will be safety guidelines for self-treatment,
red flags, and indications for consultation with a physician.

Bianca Passiglia

Bianca has been practicing yoga for four years.  She was recommended
to try yoga by her vocal coach, Pat Adkins. He advised her that yoga
would help her breath control and also help keep balance in her life.
It has most certainly brought both of those benefits to her life plus
many, many more. About 6 months after she began her practice,
she wanted to learn more, so she enrolled in a Teacher Training Program with Yoga
Teachers Training Institute of Long Island. There she received her 200
hr certification.  Her intention was not to teach yoga, but to gain more
knowledge and personal growth.  After she graduated,
she took all the knowledge she obtained and applied it to her personal practice.
Six months later she felt it was time to put her knowledge to use by sharing it
with others and spreading the love of yoga.
Her mission is to help the world by bringing more awareness to the Self
through the body and with yoga.

Lululemon Ambassador

Amy?s love of yoga evolved from her love of ?tness. For years she spent hours
at the gym running, cycling, kick boxing, and practicing karate. Eventually she began
mixing vinyasa yoga classes into her workout, thinking she was getting a good stretch.
Little did she know that these yoga classes would spark a new interest in her life.
Something about the practice kept bringing her back. It was a meditation in motion and
was so much more than just the physical. Yoga gave her the most amazing healthy
high and she was hooked. In time, her running shoes were replaced by her mat and her
boxing gloves, with blocks and straps. The gym membership was cancelled and
replaced it with a yoga studio membership. It didn?t take long before she realized that
she needed to share her love of yoga with others and began her ?rst teacher training
program.
Her formal training includes:
* Advanced Teacher Training with Amy Ippoliti and Ross Rayburn
* Anusara Teacher Training Certi?cation with Todd Norian and Ann
Green.
*Anusara immersions: 1 with Chaya Spencer
2 &3 with Todd Norian & Ann Green.
*Basic and Advanced Teacher Training certi?cations, White Lotus
Foundation in Santa Barbara with Ganga White and Tracy Rich.
*Yoga Synthesis Initial and Advanced Teacher Training with Raji Thron
*Teacher Training Boot camp with Baron Baptiste
*Restorative Teacher Training with Ellen Pfeffer
*Trance Dance Teacher Training with Shiva Rea.
*Thai Yoga Massage Fundamentals with Jonas Westring
"
Amy continues learning and evolving, still very much in love with Yoga. Her
teaching style is a special blend of the best of her many in?uences. She believes that
what we learn about ourselves on our mats can be directly applied to our lives off the
mat. Her classes are challenging, creative and light hearted. She offers her students
many options to modify postures or to try out more advanced variations. She
encourages her students to trust themselves, listen to their own internal feedback, move
from their hearts and surf the waves of their breath!

Peace Weaver

PEACE WEAVER BIO LONG:

Peace Weaver spent her childhood in upstate New York singing to trees and making clothes for her dolls, while her family pressured her into strict academic achievement and professionalism.   She received a BA in philosophy from Stanford University, and went on to Study Clothing and Textiles at Cornell University.  While at Stanford – she was heavily influenced by the Grateful Dead – and the community surrounding the scene.

At the Age of 24, she left her successful corporate job, and embarked on her genuine bohemian life.  She bought a car, packed her guitar, changed her name to Peace, and traveled.

Throughout her journeys – songwriting was her stability: A form of artistic centering that healed and supported her.  Her songs come from a place of deep inner truth – like a guiding light of universal wisdom – looking out through the circumstances of the individual.

Peace spent most of her time in San Francisco, CA and Woodstock NY.  In Eugene Oregon, she developed her own weaving technique – from ancient tablet, hand weaving tools – the Psychedelic Twill.  Peace has been producing and selling her weaving since 1994.  In San Francisco – she started one of the longest running – weekly all women’s production, dance parties – SISTER.  And began her lifelong devotion to yoga.

Peace did not go public with her songwriting until 1995 when she arrived in Woodstock New York.  With overwhelming encouragement, she forged an idealistic notion of success & traveling with a family.  In Woodstock, she led two national tours – under the banner of sustainable, nomadic, artistic intentional community – these tours later became known as the Peace Train.

During the last Peace Train tour, with 3 songbooks to her credit – and two more on the way.  Peace met producer and political leader – Mark Glick, in Austin Texas.  Mark produced Peace’s first studio album - WE ARE THEM, in Bastrop Texas, in a small cabin/recording studio - with a tin roof.

The projects release was postponed in 2000, when Peace became pregnant and moved to Asheville, NC to focus on family.   Although she still intended to continue traveling – now with her children – motherhood, brought some deep lessons in reality.

Peace calls herself a social philosopher and artistic entrepreneur, with many years of devotion to her spiritual practice & beliefs. Through experience, she knows that art is our creative power to heal.   A Weaver, Fiber Artist, Singer/Songwriter, Philosopher & Yogini:  she is solidly committed to wholistic life in balance.  Carrying the responsibility of her name, and striving continually to assist humanity on its conscious journey, Peace is also a human participating in the dance. She brings her music to the world as a witness, an offering and inspiration to others.

Alan Santiparro Scheurman

Alan Santiparro Scheurman is a musician, artist, writer, permaculturist, and healer/student of the medicine path.  Santiparro signifies “the lens that sees many things not usually seen” or "magnifying glass".  This was the name given to Scheurman by a Huichol ma’arakame while taking a pilgrimage to the sacred desert lands known as Wirikuta – the place where the very first peyote cactus appeared in the Earth. Like the name indicates, Santiparro’s songs are a delicate weaving of stardust and spirit, ether and earth, bringing to light the invisible through a magnification of the subtle space in between the breath and the beat of the heart. He readily taps into the eternal source to bring out the truth of his experience in a song that teaches while it plays with the listener.  If only one thing has been consistent in his musical career, it has been that place of truth as it has evolved from the expression of his own dark depression to the light of accumulated and integrated spiritual wisdom, clearly resulting from Scheurman’s affinity for and time spent with many elders and wisdom keepers of the Americas. His organization EcoZoic works to assist indigenous communities with permaculture education through fundraising efforts and sales of traditional ceremonial art.  At present, the campaign is focused on the Huichol villages of the Sierra Madre Occidental in order to provide resources to address their water needs due to rapid deforestation over the past few decades.  Scheurman lives in Brooklyn.  He is available for private and public healing sessions and specializes in vibratory channeling, chakra balancing with crystals, altar construction and activation, smudging and cleansing rituals, sound heaing meditations and musical events.
